While all areas of inquiry concerning psychedelics are understudied due to the legal status and cultural stigmatization of these substances, their import for Christianity has generated far less scholarly attention than their significance for other religious faiths and for spirituality generally. Our work aims to address this shortfall.
Using quantitative and qualitative methods as well as theological resources, we examine how familiarity with Christianity might impact psychedelic experiences and, conversely, how psychedelic experiences might enhance, diminish, or otherwise influence religious faith and practice within a Christian context.
